THE WOMAN IN GREY
She heard them whisper, as she sat there alone. She heard the
voices blame her. She even started to believe that she had turned everyone she
loved into stone, into nothing. But it wasn't her fault, it was like a curse,
like she sold her soul to the devil and now he followed her and destroyed the happiness
she once had and turned it into a dull numbness. It wasn't even her favourite
colour but she couldn't help it; it came to her when she hopelessly desperate
but now it was like an obsession. If it wasn't for it, her husband wouldn't have departed, she wouldn't be locked up, hearing them whisper, she wouldn't be
known as the woman in grey.
